Cardiac Athletes- The website for heart patients returning to exercise

Are you a heart patient who wants to return to exercise?

If your cardiac recovery has been so good that your cardiologist has agreed to let you return to your favourite sport " so long as you don't over do it ! ", then Cardiac Athletes, launched in 2001, is for you.

The site offers information, advice and guidelines on safe and effective exercise for heart patients, ideally who have completed hospital or community based cardiac rehabilitation programmes.

We are a truly global social network support group. The Cardiac Athletes Forum is FREE and is where you can meet other like-minded people with similar heart problems to your own and you don’t have to be an 'elite' athlete to join. You may simply be interested in taking a more active role in your recovery or just staying fit and healthy as part of your own personal secondary prevention.  The site is for everyone of any ability. * JOIN THE FORUM HERE *

Within the Forum you will be able to follow others blogs as they take part in various sports and activities.  There are Tools for Calculating your Training Heart Rates too.  Some members have even been given medical clearance to take part in competitive events and have raised money for various charities including our very own ' Cardiac Athletes AED ( Automated External Defibrillator ) Fund '.  This year ( 2010 ) we shall be presenting the first of what we hope will be many to the emergency services.  Cardiac Athletes are pioneers who challenge lifes challenges, who value life and who save lives.  If you think you are a Cardiac Athlete then don't 'stalk' ... jump right in and join today ... we are a friendly bunch in here and you have much to gain ... looking forward to chatting to you.

Alternatively if you know someone else with a heart history then please tell them about this website today.  Thanks.

Feel free to look around the site.
